DW: I wonder if they ever found my Mickey Mouse bag from 1989...
Every year, Unclaimed Baggage, the Alabama company that buys and resells lost airline luggage, releases a report on the strangest things found in bags that were never claimed, and this year's list from 2025 does not disappoint. Workers found a fully assembled robot with working joints and electric motors, a powered prosthetic knee that was still in clinical testing, a 10-karat diamond grill set, a meteorite fragment that fell to Earth in 1576, a pair of fire poi used for fire dancing, and a beekeeping suit.
They also turned up a suitcase packed entirely with rat poison and no other belongings. On the trendier side, bags contained Labubu collectible toys, Trader Joe's tote bags, and large amounts of gold jewelry. The company says it kept items equivalent to the contents of 3,300 garbage trucks out of landfills in 2024. The most commonly lost items were clothing, shoes, phones, tablets, book,s and headphones.
