What would you do? A cleaner quit her job after a client scattered 100 tiny rubber ducks around their home to test whether she was doing a thorough job. Twenty-six-year-old Devon Weitman arrived for her Monday morning shift to find a jar and a rude note instructing her to retrieve all the hidden ducks and place them back in the container. The home's owner was not home when she arrived. Weitman called the task "demeaning" and described it as a depressing "gamification" of her work.
She managed to find 66 ducks before having to leave for other jobs, but decided to end the contract that same day. Her post about the experience went viral, gaining 3.8 million views and 161,000 likes. "You should be able to talk to your cleaner, trust that they know their profession, or leave a list of priorities," Weitman said, "instead of a hundred ducks."
