DW: I really think we should bring dueling back...but with hot sauce filled super soakers.
It’s the first time in a while that anyone’s had legal trouble because of dueling. A man in Japan has been arrested for violating the country's anti-dueling law, which dates back to 1889. The 26-year-old, Fugetsu Asari, got into a fight with another man in Tokyo's Kabukicho district around 4 am on September 23rd.
Asari threw the other man, 30-year-old Naoya Masuda, to the ground during the fight. Masuda hit his head on the pavement and later died from his injuries on October 12th. Asari now faces manslaughter charges on top of the dueling violation, which carries two to five years in prison. He admitted to the charges and said he feels deeply remorseful.
