A court in Turkey has ruled that a man liking other women's photos on social media is a good enough reason for his wife to divorce him. A woman in the city of Kayseri filed for divorce, saying her husband spent too much time on social media liking pictures of other women and leaving suggestive comments, and also accused him of verbally insulting her.
Her husband denied the claims and filed his own divorce request, saying his wife was too jealous. The court decided the husband was more at fault and ordered him to pay about $2,000 in compensation plus $20 per month in support, and his appeal was rejected. Lawyers in Turkey say this case could change how future divorces are handled, with screenshots and online activity now serving as evidence.
