DW: THIS is why I am a dog man...
A cat in Sri Lanka got caught trying to sneak drugs into a high-security prison. The feline felon had a small bag tied around its neck with nearly two grams of heroin, two SIM cards, and a memory chip inside. Guards at Welikada Prison spotted the cat acting sneaky and stopped it before it could get inside. The bag was handed over to the police, who are now trying to figure out who sent the cat on this mission.
This isn’t the first time animals have been used to smuggle stuff—another cat was caught in 2020 at the same prison with drugs, and pigeons have been used as well. The cat is now being held at a nearby animal shelter while the investigation continues. No word on if the kitty got its one phone call.
