DW: I see London, I see France. I see China passing us in the lunar colonialization race.
Get ready for the lunar real estate boom. Chinese scientists have revealed a new type of brick they hope can be used to build the first base and inhabitable houses on the surface of the moon. The “moon soil bricks” are designed to slot together to make construction easier, and they’re tougher than normal earthly bricks.
How much tougher? The lunar bricks have three times the compressive strength of ordinary red bricks and concrete bricks and are able to withstand a weight of more than a ton per square centimeter. The new bricks are going to be sent to the moon and left there for testing until the end of next year.
