Homer Simpson’s Car Just Sold On Facebook Marketplace

DW: I need more adult money...

Someone in America now owns an exact replica of Homer Simpson’s iconic pink sedan. While fans have debated its model, describing it as either a “1973 Plymouth Valiant” or a “1986 Plymouth Junkerolla” built from “old Soviet tanks,” an ad on Facebook Marketplace recently revealed a modified 1967 Plymouth Valiant made to match Homer’s car. This pretty-exact recreated vehicle, complete with details like a crinkled fender, bent antenna, and “Junkerolla” emblems, was listed in Muskegon, Michigan, for $25,000 and quickly sold.

Tim Updyke, the car’s creator, originally posted it to show off his work, but a fan immediately reached out, insisting, “I have to have that thing.” Known for his custom movie-inspired cars like "Jurassic Park" Jeeps and ECTO-1s, Updyke shared that a second Simpsons car he built is headed to the "Volo Car Museum" in Illinois. This isn’t the first fan-built homage to Homer’s cars; in 2013, another team created a real-life version of “The Homer,” which earned the praise of "Simpsons" creator Matt Groening and writer Al Jean.
