DW: I'm gonna open a restaurant that bans loud eaters...and mouth breathers...
A Missouri restaurant has stirred online debate with its unusual age policy aimed at maintaining a “sophisticated” atmosphere. Bliss restaurant in St. Louis requires women to be at least 30 and men to be at least 35 to dine there. The policy, explained in a Facebook post, is intended to attract a mature clientele and avoid the disruptions often associated with the youngsters.
Despite some backlash, owner Marvin Pate and assistant manager Erica Rhodes stand by the rule, believing it creates a relaxing, resort-like environment. Though some have protested the restrictions, others have commented saying, “Love this cuz not only it’s for the mature crowd but it makes you wanna go out again without the nonsense.”
