DW: Time to head to Colorado with a fork! Too soon?
A tragic lightning strike in rural Colorado claimed the life rancher Mike Morgan, 51, and 34 head of cattle over the weekend, with the deadly bolt striking as Morgan tended to his herd in an open pasture. Over 100 cattle were bowled over in the incident, though dozens were able to get up afterward.
Despite life-saving efforts by emergency responders, Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene. While Morgan's wife and father-in-law narrowly escaped on the family farm, the coroner says the single bolt is incredibly unusual.
