DW: I really think lonely people should live in a haunted house. (spooky voice) YOU'RE NEVER ALONE!!!!
This isn’t just a ghost story. Though the United States is home to a handful of houses north of 200 years old, one abode in particular stands out as the most unique. A house in New York that dates back to the 1890s was legally declared haunted in 1991 by a New York Supreme Court ruling after a series of mysterious door slams and shaking beds.
The person who bought the 4,600-square-foot Victorian house in Nyack in 1989 sued the previous owner for not disclosing the poltergeists before the sale, which led to the NYSC ruling in favor of the buyer. The ghosts aren’t the only notable inhabitants of the home. Previous owners include singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson, Jewish rapper Matisyahu, and director-screenwriter Adam Brooks.
