Scientists say that human and octopus brains share the same ‘jumping genes’ that can ‘move’ from one point in a genome to another, and the specific genes we share are believed to be associated with learning, memory, and cognitive abilities.
What does it mean? Scientists say it gives them a way to study how intelligence evolves. The discovery was part of an international collaboration between 20 researchers all over the world and published in BMC Biology.
