Japanese scientists have created a creepy robot to make it easier for dentists to train on how to deal with small children. The Pedia_Roid can move its arms, legs, and eyes to fake anxiety, fear, and resistance…in other words, the robot throws a tantrum in the dentist’s chair.
The company says it’s “an ultimate emergency simulator.” The robot is three and a half feet tall and weighs 50 pounds, making it about the same size as an average five- or six-year-old. As an added bit of realism, it also has a vomiting reflex. They won’t be common thanks to its almost $200k price.
