Poison's Rikki Rockett Gets Clean Bill Of Health Ahead Of 'Stadium Tour'

Poison drummer Rikki Rockett is happy to report that he's still cancer-free about a month ahead of the 'Stadium Tour' with Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.

Rockett shared the news after a routine checkup at the Monroe Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health.

"I love being negative," he wrote. "Time to do a tour!!!"

In July, while Poison is on the road Rockett will celebrate six years of being in remission.

The drummer was diagnosed with oral cancer in 2015 after visiting his doctor complaining of a sore throat that wouldn't go away. His doctor found a tumor at the base of his tongue and Rockett quickly began treatment.

But within a few months, the cancer spread to Rockett's lymph nodes. At that point, he enrolled in a clinical trial at UCSD Moore's Cancer Center to try a new drug called pembrolizumab (Keytruda).

The tumor shrunk over 90 percent in two months. By the following summer (2016), the cancer was gone.

The 'Stadium Tour' kicks off June 16 in Atlanta, Georgia. Go here for tour dates and more information.
