Axl Rose Thanks Fans For Helping Him Get Through Illness At Chicago Concert

A recent series of Tweets from Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose illustrates just how far removed the frontman is from his diva days in the '90s.

Rose, who was once notorious for taking the stage hours late or calling off GNR shows on a whim, has completely flipped the narrative in the new era of GNR with renewed punctuality and "inspiring" dedication to his craft.

When his performance this weekend at Wrigley Field in Chicago wasn't up to his standards, Rose addressed it in a series of Tweets from GNR's official account, explaining that he was battling nausea and light-headedness throughout the set. His symptoms definitely affected his vocals at times, he admitted.

He credited the crowd for helping him get through the performance.

"I got to the show feeling great, but started getting sick pretty early on. It progressed to where I was throwing up & was light headed. Wouldn’t have been surprised if I’d fallen off the front of the stage.
I’d b fine then not, fine again then not all night. Was pretty crazy but the crowd was great n’ I was in a great headspace n’ we had fun. Luckily the COVID test was negative.
Def messed with my vocals in places. Just glad we got thru it n’ it didn’t mess with the show too bad. I’m a lot better now. Seems most likely to be food poisoning.

GNR's 'We're F'N' Back' tour runs through October and then heads to Australia in November.

The band released its first new single in 13 years, "ABSURD," in August. Rumor has it, GNR is preparing another new single for release this fall.
