Zakk Wylde "Didn't Do Anything" On Ozzy Osbourne's New Album

Ozzy Osbourne And Corey Taylor Special Announcement

Since Zakk Wylde returned to Ozzy Osbourne's employ in 2017 after an eight-year split with his longtime boss, fans understandably assumed that Wylde would contribute to Ozzy's next studio project, should there be one.

But apparently the on stage reunion did little to change Ozzy's opinion that the songwriting chemistry between himself and Wylde had run its course.

Wylde revealed in a recent interview with The Cassius Morris Show via YouTube that he contributed no music to Ozzy's recently completed album; in fact, he wasn't even asked to record guitars on it.

"We didn't do anything on that," Wylde said. "Ozz, he just jammed with some friends that he knows. He was just like, 'Hey, Zakk, I ended up tracking some of the stuff,' or whatever, and I was like, 'Oh. Great, Ozz.'"

With the exception of one time when Wylde impugned Ozzy's lack of communication over his 2009 firing, the guitarist has never been one to speak ill of the man he's called "The Boss" for over 30 years.

Regarding Ozzy's recent collaboration with Post Malone on the song "Take What You Want," Wylde spoke glowingly.

"That Post Malone thing I heard was awesome," Wylde said. "Post came down to a Black Label [Society] show ... A really cool guy and everything like that. When I heard the track, Ozzy sounds great on it, man."

Wylde added once more that he had "nothing to do with the stuff that Ozz just recorded," before noting that he and Ozzy could still record together again.

As far as we all know, Wylde is still in Ozzy's live band and will be back on tour with Ozzy when his 'No More Tours 2' tour resumes next spring.

Ozzy's health continues to improve as he goes about his rehab. Wylde confirms that Ozzy was present at his daughter Rae's recent wedding.
