Counterfeit Money Has Been Circulating in Danville; How To Spot It

The Danville Police Department wants people to be aware of counterfeit money that's circulating through the area.

Specifically, police have stated the suspects are preying on people using online classified ads and social media yard sale pages.

Detective Abbott with the Danville Police Department demonstrates how to tell the difference between a real bill and a fake one in a video they posted on their Facebook page.

The Danville Police Department also has a 'safe exchange zone' located in the lower parking lot behind the city municipal building.

This area is designed so people who need to exchange items/goods can do so in a safe and neutral meeting spot.
