Ninteen-Year-Old Has Surgery Due To Beer Pong Injury

DW: ALWAYS stretch before getting wasted!

This may qualify for the “all-time strangest injuries” list. A 19-year-old man ended up in the hospital after a game of beer pong went seriously wrong. He showed up with sharp throat pain, trouble swallowing, and difficulty breathing. An X-ray revealed the problem: a bottle cap was stuck in his upper esophagus.

It had fallen into his red Solo cup without him noticing, and he swallowed it about an hour before heading to the ER. Doctors performed an emergency procedure, inserting a thin tube with a camera down his throat to remove the cap. The surgery went smoothly and he was fine afterward, but it's safe to say he lost that round.
