DW: Bringing a little bit of Walmart to the rich neighborhood!
Seven Pines, a 15-thousand-square-foot Neo-Georgian mansion in Wenham, Massachusetts, is headed for a foreclosure auction tomorrow at noon. Sitting on nearly 31 acres across two parcels, the estate boasts more than nine bedrooms, ten baths, indoor and outdoor pools, greenhouses, and multiple garages behind twin gated drives and rolling fields. Auctioneer Marianne Sullivan calls it “the White House of the North Shore.”
Would-be bidders must bring a $75,000 bank check just to step inside and pay a 10 percent deposit within five business days if they win; closing is due in 30 days, and the buyer must arrange access because, according to Sullivan, “There’s no switch, there’s no handover of keys, because we do not have any access.” Also, she said the sellers believe the property is currently occupied, something that the buyers will also have to deal with themselves.
