DW: HEY! I'm addicted to a particular website...ahem...where's my compensation?
A woman won over $200-thousand from Candy Crush…kind of. She was prescribed a medicine that’s used to treat things like restless leg syndrome and Parkinson’s, but a side-effect of the drug is that it makes the person taking it have lo impulse control problems and an increased craving for dopamine. Since Candy Crush is designed to play on both of those things, she quickly became addicted.
It didn’t stop there. She moved on to virtual slot machines, and now she’s gotten a payout from a different source. The National Health Service has admitted that her doctor not only failed to warn her about the side-effects, but gave her twice the dose she needed. They’ve given her around $215-thousand in compensation for her Candy Crush-slot machine addiction.
