DW: Just like working here...at lot of work with nothing to show for it at the end of the day. HA!
Customers of a billion-dollar bank were left shocked after withdrawing fake $100 bills from an ATM in Providence, Kentucky. Over a dozen people received prop money marked “for motion picture purposes” and “in props we trust” during their visits to an Independence Bank ATM.
Among the victims is Tiffany Vaugh, who withdrew $400 in $100 bills and realized the money was phony when she tried to spend it. “It was several people that went to that bank and pulled out $100s. It was just the $100 bills, it was none of the other cash. It felt real, it looked real, just like a crisp new $100 bill” she explained.
In a statement, Independence Bank says it will “continue to work with our ATM vendor and our customers to assure corrective action. We began directly contacting the 14 people inconvenienced and have started the process of ensuring they receive proper bills.” No one has any idea how the movie money made its way into a real bank for circulation.
