DW: 6 months is usually how long it takes your colon to release the greasy goodness...
In Decatur, Georgia, visitors are waiting up to six months for a chance to enter a special Waffle House. The Waffle House Museum is a replica of the first Waffle House that opened up on Labor Day 1955. They don’t serve food, but they do have vintage mugs, menus, and furnishings.
Instead of cooking waffles, guests can sit at the classic counter, try on a staff hat, or select tunes from the jukebox. The museum also displays the Waffle House Index, a special way to see how bad a storm is by checking if nearby Waffle Houses are open or shut.
The museum only allows 20 people in for tours twice a day, only on Wednesdays. While all private tours are booked for the rest of the year, they do have an upcoming “open house” on September 7 and December 7. Those interested in next year's tours, need to wait until December to book for 2025.
