DW: It is for this reason God created electric fences...
Maryse Chaussé was stunned to find a family using her private swimming pool. The strangers claimed they rented the pool for $35 via the app “Swimply,” listed by a former tenant who moved out in 2022. Chaussé reported the ad to the app, which was promptly removed. She also contacted the police but was told no action could be taken as there was no criminal intent.
Concerned about future incidents, Chaussé is considering installing a locked fence. "I don't want to spend my summer watching my yard," she explained.
Swimply is an app for renting pools and other spaces, with over 25,000 listings and a $1 million insurance policy for hosts.
