DW: Maggots on the flight to Detroit? Isn't that considered normal for Detroit?
A Delta plane was forced to turn around an hour after takeoff due to a maggot infestation that was discovered in an overhead bin. Delta Flight DL133 from Amsterdam to Detroit had to pull the plug on the flight Monday when a suitcase containing rotten fish busted open, causing maggots to fall onto the unsuspecting passengers.
A passenger gave an interview saying that that the owner of the sickening suitcase was after the rest of the travelers deplaned. The cabin was then thoroughly cleaned, and the suitcase was placed in a bag to be burned. Though it’s unclear if the rotting luggage’s owner was punished, travelers were allegedly given 8,000 air miles, hotel room compensation, and a $30 meal ticket for the delay.
