CARNIVOROUS FROGS NOW BREEDING IN GEORGIA

DW: Have I ever told you I love living in Virginia.........and NOT Georgia!

Like something out of a biblical sci-fi movie, researchers have found an invasive species of carnivorous tree frogs are now breeding in Georgia. Cuban treefrogs, which feed on the wildlife and are native to the Caribbean, have spread across the Southeast and beyond.

The amphibians can reach five and a half inches long – about the size of an adult’s hand – and will eat "anything they can put in their mouth," from insects and lizards to other tree frogs to rodents. What’s worse, the horrible hoppers are drawn to the warmth of campers and RVs so it’s possible that stowaways could increase numbers outside the area and across the country.
