Beware of an icy reception…A matchmaking service in Los Angeles is attracting adventurous types who want to get to know each other under frosty conditions. The event is called Ice Breakers and it includes meditation, a musical “sound journey”, and then a speed dating session where attendees are randomly paired up in 37-degree tubs of water for three minutes at a time. The daters are provided with waterproof cards that have questions on them like, “What does love mean to you?”
So, does it work? IcePass says of the three dating events they’ve held so far, seven couples have gone on second dates and three are still together, adding, “The goal is to come here just to connect, and if love sparks, that’s pretty special.”
