DW: Better than snorting Daddy's powder, I say.
A mother in New Orleans is getting attention by confessing on TikTok about her obsession with eating Johnson's Baby Powder after spending nearly $4,000 on the product. Dreka Martin, 27, says she liked the taste as a kid and started eating it a decade ago.
Martin says her addiction says she loves “melting” the powder in her mouth by chewing it for 40 seconds and that she’d rather eat the powder than “real food”. Some experts think Martin’s condition is related to low iron levels while others say she has “pica” which is when people compulsively eat things that aren’t food. Meanwhile, Johnson’s warns people that their product is not supposed to be ingested.
