New research from the University of Saskatchewan suggests that playing video games could improve reading skills. The researchers say that gaming may improve peripheral attention skills, which are essential for reading ability.
They tested gamers based on what games they played and how many âperipherally-locatedâ objects had to be identified by the players, then tested them on both real and made-up words. The scientists say players of some games âtended to have faster reading reaction timesâ than others.
