Roanoke's Dr Pepper Park has received a $5,000 grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation to help increase off-season tourism.
Dr Pepper Park partnered with other local businesses to supply matching funds for the fall portion of their 2023 season.
Virginia Tourism Corporation awarded more than $757,000 to 131 marketing programs, ultimately impacting 655 combined partners, and supporting more than 1,300 jobs across the state to help increase off-season visitation to tourism businesses and destinations.
“The Microbusiness Marketing Leverage Program is part of VTC’s strategy to grow year-round visitation in Virginia and is designed to support small tourism businesses with marketing dollars to drive out-of-state visitation during off-peak travel season," said Rita McClenny, President and CEO of Virginia Tourism Corporation.
The program is focused on supporting tourism businesses with less than 20 full-time employees.
Dr Pepper Park gears up for its milestone 10th season at the Bridges development in 2024, promising a season filled with a varied array of concerts, festivals, and special events from April through October.
In addition, Dr Pepper Park has consistently earned the title of Roanoke's Best Live Music Venue since 2020, as voted by both readers of The Roanoker Magazine and The Roanoke Times.
