DW: NOOOOOOO! MY CANDY CRUSH!!!!!
Don’t forget to back up your computer! A massive solar storm is predicted to hit Earth in 2025 and experts say it could cause an “internet apocalypse”. Even though this has occurred 25 times since records began in 1755, authorities on the issue fear the current cycle has “ramped up much faster” than normal, and has seen “more sunspots and eruptions than experts had forecast”. And since solar storms contain electromagnetic pulses, this could cause catastrophic effects on Earth if it's big enough.
According to a spokesman from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration: “Some grid systems may experience complete collapse or blackouts.” Though rumors online are going wild about “the end of the internet,” NASA has yet to comment on the possibility of by a solar storm killing the world wide web.
