DW: Note to my family: I am down for just cake. And only one knife...to cut the cake.
A 99-year-old woman in the U.K. can now cross having knives hurled at her off her bucket list. Annie Duplock used to hang publicity posters for Zippo Circus 30 years ago and she recently came back for a more dangerous assignment. Duplock approached Martin Burton, who heads up the circus, to see if she could be part of the knife-throwing act before her 100th birthday in August… and Burton said yes.
The ringleader had knife thrower Toni do the honors as Duplock stood very still, perpendicular to the target, with her cane in hand. So, how did it go? Following the big moment in the spotlight, the nearly centenarian said she “really enjoyed” the experience and she’s “ready for the next one.”
