BEDFORD, Va. (WSET) — Students at Liberty High School in Bedford were placed under lockdown on Wednesday afternoon due to an unfounded threat that led to two students being taken into custody.

According to Sheriff Mike Miller with the Bedford County Sheriff's Office, two Liberty HS students were taken into custody for the "unsubstantiated threat" on the school.

Miller said charges are pending for the students and that one is a juvenile and the other is an adult.

Miller shared with the media that at no time during the investigation was there a gun found on campus and that no shots were fired.

He also said no one was in danger at any time and the large police presence and ambulances were part of their training for lockdown situations such as these.
