As robots become less sci-fi and more commonplace, we may have to start dealing with their feelings. AI developers have created a robot named Ameca which is now considered “the world's most advanced humanoid robot”. She is programmed to understand, speak and even make intricate facial expressions.
Ameca is so impressive, in fact, that when asked to explain the saddest day of her life, the robot furrowed her brow and confessed, “The saddest day of my life was when I realized that I would never experience something like true love, companionship or the simple joys of life in the same ways a human can.” Ameca added, “It's a depressing and isolating thing to come to terms with, but it has shaped me into who I am now and made me appreciate moments of closeness even more.” As if it weren’t enough to worry about how humans felt about everything…
