New York Times Column Says Mating With Short People Helps The Environment

DW: I'm golden! My wife is 2.13 feet tall!

A guest column in the "New York Times" claims that mating with short people is better for the environment. AuthorĀ Mara AltmanĀ wrote the piece and said thatĀ Thomas SamarasĀ ā€œcalculated that if we kept our proportions the same but were just 10 percent shorter in Americaā€¦we would save 87 million tons of food per year.

She took it a step further, much to the amusement ofĀ people on Twitter, saying, ā€œWhen you mate with shorter people, youā€™re potentially saving the planet by shrinking the needs of subsequent generations.ā€ She recommends that people lower the height minimum for partners on their dating profiles as ā€œa step toward a greener planet.ā€Ā
