Library Receives Overdue Book 47 Years Late With A Note And A Donation

DW: Thought I'd end the week on a good story...since Santa is looking and all...

A library in Minnesota received a package in the mail with no return address, and inside they found an auto repair book wrapped in bubble wrap. A handwritten note in the box said that they had checked the copy of “Chilton’s Foreign Car Repair Manual” out of the library “In the mid-1970s,” and had just found it in a trunk.

The note said, “It’s a little overdue, but I thought you might want it back. My apologies to anyone in Lake Elmo who was working on an old Benz in the last 47 years.” Also included in the box were two crisp hundred-dollar bills. The head librarian says the money was nice, but the best thing about the package was the note.
