DW: Finally, I cause I can GET BEHIND. (snicker snicker)
A crowd of around 2,500 Australians took off all their clothes on Saturday at Sydneyâs Bondi Beach to remind people to get checked for skin cancer regularly. The event was a partnership between Australian charity Skin Check Champions and Spencer Tunick, the New York photographer known for his nude group shots.
Tunick said of the event that âWe have an opportunity to raise awareness about skin checks and Iâm honoredâŠto come here, make my art and just celebrate the body and protection.â Itâs estimated that over a thousand Australians will have died of skin cancer just this year.
