From ABC 13 - WSET Meteorologist Sydney Welch:
(WSET) — A tornado watch has been issued in parts of Virginia and North Carolina, including areas in Central Virginia.
The tornado watch is predicted to last through 3:00 p.m.
The remnants of Nicole will impact our Friday forecast with rain and wind.
Pockets of heavy rain are possible with 1" to 3" rainfall totals when all is said and done this evening into tomorrow morning.
Some areas could pick up more than 3" of rain. Those locations east of the Blue Ridge have a slightly higher flood risk.
The winds will be both straight-line winds and rotating winds. Warnings are possible.
Mainly watching the afternoon and evening when the atmosphere will be warmest and most humid.
