Error Lets Nevada Woman Buy 87 Homes For The Price Of One

A woman in Nevada got more than she was looking for when she bought a single-family home valued at $594k. After the sale, the Washoe County Assessor and the County Recorder’s office showed that she now owned the title for the house she bought…plus 84 additional house lots and two additional parcels in the development, including several that have already been built on and sold to other people.

There was no fraud on the part of the woman; according to the assessor’s office, “Westminster Title out of Las Vegas may have copied and pasted a legal description from another transfer.” Correcting the mistake will involve the woman transferring the title back to the company. When reached for comment, the buyer reportedly replied with “no comment” and a smiley face.
