As residents in rural eastern Kentucky wait for flood waters to recede, Gleaning For The World is stepping into action to help by collecting disaster relief supplies later this week in front of Sam's Club on Wards Rd in Lynchburg.
On Thursday, August 4 and Friday, August 5, GFTW representatives will be outside Sam's Club from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm collecting cleaning supplies and personal hygiene products to help residents in Eastern Kentucky affected by last week's flooding.
GFTW is asking the public to donate brand new, unused, unopened items:
- nonperishable foods
- paper kitchen products
- toilet paper
- paper towels
- personal hygiene items
- adult diapers
- feminine care products
- baby care items and diapers
- cleaning products
- trash bags
- pet food and pet supplies
The public is also invited to drop off monetary donations via cash or check during the collection times at Sam's Club.
