Virginia State Police say a man has been arrested in connection with a road rage shooting incident that took place in Roanoke in June.

Daniel Christopher Clausell was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Northern California earlier this month and has been extradited back to Virginia, state police said.

Clausell is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle and hit and run.

The incident occurred Friday, June 17 on I-81 North near mile marker 141 at about 7:15 am.

Police say a red Mazda 3 with Colorado tags and a box truck were involved, with a male inside the Mazda allegedly opening fire on the box truck.
