Player Cut From USFL Team For Not Liking Chicken Salad

The USFL started their 2022 season over the weekend, but an incident that was shown in the preseason documentary, “United by Football: A Season in the USFL” is getting all the attention. In a clip from the flick, Pittsburgh Maulers running back De’Veon Smith was cut from the team, with the cameras there to catch the moment he was let go.

Why was he fired? Because he asked for pizza instead of chicken saladat the team hotel. No, that’s not a joke. In the clip, Maulers coach Kirby Wilson sits down with Smith and tells him the bad news, saying “Any disrespect of football or members of staff, USFL, etc. will not be tolerated.”

While Wilson attempted to justify firing Smith - Smith just seems more stunned and confused.
