LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- The Lynchburg City School Board voted on Tuesday night that students of all ages will return to schools 100% virtually for at least the first nine weeks.
The school board voted to move forward with plan three for the coming school year in which students in grades pre-school through 12th grade will participate in remote learning beginning August 24, 2020, and then transition to in-person learning in schools after the first nine weeks of school, in about late October.
The Lynchburg Education Association said they support a return to learn plan that is 100 percent virtual for fall 2020.
Parents in Lynchburg said that they are split on how they feel about all students starting school virtually on August 24 following Tuesday's meeting.
