Feeding Southwest VA and Blue Ridge Area Food Bank Looking for Donations

Feeding Southwest Virginia and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank are looking for monetary and food donations during this time of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank says:

"Each month, the Food Bank provides enough food for about 1.8 million meals to an average of 103,500 people in need across 25 counties and eight cities in central and western Virginia. We do this through a network of 205 community partners—food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters—and 175 program sites serving children, seniors, and families.

Our primary responsibility during the COVID-19 pandemic is to support and sustain this vital network and ensure food access for the tens of thousands of families who depend on us."

Meanwhile, Feeding Southwest Virginia is asking for food items:

"Please consider conducting a food drive to help those in need. Many in our community are food insecure and we need your help!"

Most Needed Items

  • Peanut Butter
  • Beans
  • Rice
  • 100% Juice
  • Soup
  • Pasta
  • Canned Meat
  • Canned Fruit
  • Canned Vegetables

Monetary donations are urgently needed. For every $1.00 donated, enough food for 4 to 6 meals can be purchased.
