Lynchburg: Suspect in McDonald's Shooting Incident In Custody

The Lynchburg Police Department has Sherwin Overstreet in custody. He was arrested in Roanoke this afternoon with the help of the United States Marshals Service Task Force, which is a collaboration between the U.S. Marshals Service, the Lynchburg Police Department, and other Central Virginia law enforcement agencies. Overstreet is charged with two counts of malicious wounding and two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony. 

The incident occurred at the McDonald's located at 2135 Wards Road on January 3, 2020. The two victims from the shooting suffered non-life-threatening wounds and are expected to recover.

This remains an ongoing investigation.
