The Salem Police Department say they arrested the man attacked while driving a school bus recently for assaulting a minor.
Detectives say they received a call Monday from a woman who said her daughter was assaulted by an adult male while she was at work.
The mother told officers that her daughter is under the age of 17, and that she knew the man in question.

She told told officers that the man came to her job in the 1500 block of West Main Street and approached her while she was on her break outside.
Officials say the girl told them that the man motioned for her to go towards him. After the incident, she went back inside the business and told her mother.
Police say the girl wasn't injured and did not need any medical attention.
Officers identified the suspect as 70-year-old Johnny P. Couch of Roanoke. He was arrested Wednesday and charged with Assault and Batter and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
Officials say Couch was brought to the Roanoke County/Salem magistrate's office and then was released on an unsecured bond.

Police are investigating after a bus driver was attacked Tuesday morning as it stopped to pick up students from school.
According to police, Shannon D. Aliff physically assaulted the bus driver around 6:59 a.m., exited the bus, and was later arrested.
Aliff has been charged with one count of assault and battery.
Police said the bus driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
