Dog Reunited With Family After Five Years

It’s been more than five years since a pet dachshund disappeared from her Connecticut home and she’s finally been reunited with her family. The beloved pet is now 17-years-old and was discovered by an animal control officer in a parking lot about 20 miles from where she went missing.

The animal control officer noticed the older dog, who appears to have lost most of her hearing and sight, in a parking lot in Norwich, Connecticut. After finding the dog’s microchip, her identity was discovered and her owners were located. Lady the dachshund has now been reunited with her loving owners, Rick and Michelle Riendeau, who thought she was lost forever.

“We thought she was gone,” Rick says. “She’s the greatest dog we’ve ever had.”
