UPDATE: 1 Arrested in Connection to Attempted Robbery on Shenandoah Avenue

Roanoke Police have arrested Brian Telsaint, 23, of Roanoke, for his involvement in the attempted robbery of a gaming store business on Shenandoah Avenue, NW on September 18, 2018.  

Telsaint is charged with two counts of attempted robbery.  He was taken into custody without incident. 

This is an on-going  investigation. 


ORIGINAL STORY (September 18, 2018):

Earlier today at 3:30 a.m. Roanoke Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim at a business in the 3600 block of Shenandoah Avenue, NW. 

Upon arrival, officers and Roanoke Fire-EMS located an adult male, identified as Jeffrey Burnette, 27, of Roanoke.  Burnette was inside the business with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have learned through the course of the investigation that Burnette entered the business with a firearm and fired several rounds.  He was fatally shot by an employee of the business who was also armed. 

The incident is still under investigation and police are working with the Commonwealth Attorney's Office.
