More than $40,000 Stolen In NC and VA By Credit Card Skimmers

Two Florida residents have admitted to stealing more than $40,000 using credit car skimmers in Virginia and North Carolina.

Yunior Manuel Torres-Blanco, 25, of Hialeah, Fla., was sentenced earlier this week to 42 months (3.5 years) in prison.

Ynaisel Garcia, 22, also of Hialeah, was sentenced to 36 months (3 years) in prison.

Both plead guilty to one count of aggravated identity theft and one count of credit card fraud.

Between December 2016 and August 2017, the two placed skimmers on pumps throughout Virginia and North Carolina and captured the credit card information of customers.

They were then able to take the information and used it to buy gift cards, services, and merchandise.
