June 15, 2018 - Three people were sent to the hospital last night after two boats collided on Smith Mountain Lake. Officials with the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries said the accident happened around 5:00 p.m.
Two of the victims have been released from the hospital. One is still being treated.
According to officials, alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
Charges are pending and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
