UPDATE: Lynchburg SWAT Standoff Over

UPDATE: 12:45 p.m.

The Lynchburg Police Department identified the suspect involved in the 20-hour long standoff as James Kirk.

Kirk was taken into custody around 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 15.

UPDATE: 11:55 a.m.

Bedford  County Sheriff Mike Brown said the "high risk" warrant officers are  trying to serve to a man barricaded inside a home is for an involuntary  manslaughter indictment, associated with DUI.

The Bedford County Sheriff's Office said the warrant was being served on behalf of Virginia State Police.

LYNCHBURG,  Va. (WSET) -- A standoff in Lynchburg has reached more than 10 hours  after the Lynchburg Police Department said officers were assisting the  Bedford County Sheriff's office to serve a "high risk" warrant on  McVeigh Road.

Virginia State Police, medical crews, and SWAT team members also responded to the scene to help.
