DW: If the self righteous shoe fits...
Tesla Cybertruck owners are facing plenty of haters, with drivers reporting incidents such as being flipped off, receiving hate messages on their cars, and even having objects thrown at them. Much of the negative attention is believed to stem from the truck's design, its association with Elon Musk, or people's resistance to electric vehicles, but some owners note that younger generations tend to react more positively.
Some Cybertruck owners, like Marcus Story from Florida, think that political opinions and misinformation also play a role in how they're treated, with people assuming they support certain causes simply because they drive a Tesla. Don Turner, a Cybertruck owner in LA, has dealt with hate and rude comments from people driving older, less expensive vehicles.
Despite the negativity, many owners also receive positive reactions from kids who are excited to see the truck up close and fans expressing their love for its futuristic design. Owners are hoping the backlash will die down as people get used to seeing the Cybertruck on the road. Despite the challenges, most owners love their trucks and are happy to educate others about the vehicle's benefits, hoping the haters will eventually knock it off.
